Soria Thursday Market
Soria’s Thursday Street Market is the main weekly event for street vendors in the city of Soria. Every Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., downtown Soria fills with stalls selling fruit and vegetables, food, clothing, footwear, and household goods, just a short walk from Bernardo Robles Square and the Soria Indoor Market. The food stalls are set up next to the indoor market, in Bernardo Robles Square and on Doctrina Street, while clothing and footwear vendors have occupied Sagunto Street since May 2026. When Thursday is a holiday—such as during the San Juan and La Saca festivals—Soria’s Thursday street market is moved up to Wednesday. With nearly a hundred municipal licenses, it is one of the largest weekly street markets in the province of Soria and a regular gathering place for residents of the capital and the surrounding towns.

A little background
oria’s Thursday Street Market is governed by the Municipal Ordinance on Sales Outside Permanent Commercial Establishments, published in the Official Gazette of Soria (BOP) in 2004 and amended in 2017 to reflect the specific circumstances of the Thursday Street Market.
During the renovation of the Mercado de Abastos between 2011 and 2017, the street market was relocated to the area around Plaza de Las Concepciones. On April 6, 2017, it returned to Bernardo Robles, Doctrina, Ramón Ayllón, and Plaza del Carmen with nearly one hundred licenses: 26 for food and 72 for textiles. In July 2022, due to construction work on Plaza del Carmen and the Doctrina parking lot, the textile vendors moved to Vicente Tutor and Sagunto streets. In May 2026, the street market was concentrated solely on Sagunto Street, as a preliminary step toward consolidating the entire Soria Thursday street market on Doctrina Street once construction there is complete.
