Market Management

Managing Stalls at a Street Market, from Start to Finish

Assigning a stall, renewing a permit, collecting a fee, processing a transfer, and checking who’s selling on a Tuesday morning. That’s the job, and here’s how to do it with Feriam.es.

The Complete Lifecycle of a Job Opening

A stall is not just a row in a table: it is something that is advertised, awarded, filled, paid for, sometimes transferred, and eventually vacated. Each of these steps leaves a trace.

  1. Notice is hereby given

Job openings are posted along with their requirements and application deadlines. Anyone interested in applying can submit their application through the website without having to go anywhere.

  2. Awarded

The scoring process applies the criteria set forth in the ordinance and documents how each score was determined. If anyone files a complaint, the calculation is documented.

  3. It is authorized

The permit takes effect upon issuance and covers the merchant’s operating hours, stalls, square meters, and the products it authorizes. The merchant downloads the certificate using their verification code.

  4. A fee is charged

Receipts are generated from the ledger without having to enter amounts one by one, and merchants can pay them by card using their cell phones.

  5. It is transferred or suspended

Changes in the starting lineup, temporary absences, and suspensions are recorded in the player's file, and the position reflects the actual situation as of that moment.

  6. It is verified

At the market itself, by scanning the stall's code: who the owner is, until when they are authorized, and what they are authorized to do.

What Makes a Difference in Everyday Life

What stands out most isn't the big features, but the hours you stop wasting.

No more searching for paper

The authorization from four years ago, the receipt showing that you paid, and the document you submitted are in the merchant's file, not in a filing cabinet.

Fewer service windows

Business owners can view, pay, and submit their documents through the portal. The office focuses on what truly requires attention.

The map tells the truth

You can see which stalls are open, which are filled, and which are disabled on the market map, which is updated automatically.

And the paperwork required by law

Street vending is regulated by each municipality’s ordinance, and no two ordinances are exactly alike. Feriam does not impose a specific procedure: it is designed to work with your process, following your timelines, your assessment criteria, and your rates.

What it does come with as standard is a paper trail: every decision, every notification, and every status change is logged with the date and the person responsible. That’s what turns a claim into a ten-minute process instead of an afternoon spent rummaging through files.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it comply with our municipality's ordinance?

Yes. Deadlines, assessment criteria, fees, and types of authorization are configured through the dashboard. You don't have to change the ordinance to use Feriam, nor does Feriam require any changes to the ordinance.

How do you monitor who is selling without authorization?

Each stall has a QR code that can be scanned with a cell phone right at the market, instantly displaying the stallholder's name, the validity period, and the authorized products. Anyone not listed is not authorized.

What about merchants who don't use their cell phones?

Everything a business owner can do through the portal can also be done on their behalf by town council staff. The portal reduces the workload at the service counter; no one is required to use it.

Would it work if we had several street markets on different days?

Yes. Each market has its own days, holiday schedule, and layout, and a single vendor may have a stall at several of them. Each market's schedule is calculated based only on the holidays that apply to it.
